Salon Guru, Karen Hodges, changed careers from business and finance to the beauty industry in 1998. She’s been a day spa employee, a booth renter, a salon owner and a solo practitioner in her studio in Fort Myers, FL. In 2014, Karen reduced her offered services to a very exclusive clientele and partnered with industry leader Janet McCormick to found Nailcare Academy and a sister educational company, Salon Gurus. These companies have website platforms which actively host high-quality educational programs for beauty professionals.
In 2016, Karen pursued a long-held dream of learning PMU. She has been taking training courses and performing brow and eyeliner procedures in her studio, along with her activities as an educator. In 2019 Salon Gurus launched a new website to host excellent classes from leading permanent cosmetics practitioners and trainers.
Today, Karen often travels to US tradeshows as a speaker for America’s Beauty Show, CIDESCO, IECSC, ISSE, NASN and other organizations. Her classes are popular and highly-rated.
