Beauty & Spa Management Video

The aim of this 320-hour program is to provide candidates with the required information to efficiently and effectively operate a beauty or spa business where fundamental managerial skills and techniques are required.

The course is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of how to manage the aspects of a spa environment to individuals considering spa management or ownership. Prior esthetics or beauty therapy training is not required, however would be an asset.

This program includes lectures, readings, and assignments, and projects covering:

In order to be successful in this program, candidates should expect to spend at least 20-25 hours per week on readings, assignments, projects, and in live online sessions with an educator. Successful completion of 300 credit hours of participation, including the submission of a final business plan project, will qualify candidates to sit for the internationally recognized CIDESCO Beauty & Spa Management Diploma exam, conducted by a CIDESCO examiner.

Candidates must have strong computer and internet use awareness as well as strong English – in both written and oral form – to participate in this program. A PC or laptop, stable internet access, a functional webcam, and sufficient bandwidth will be required for full participation. Students must have access to email for class communication, as well as Microsoft Word or Google Docs, and Microsoft PowerPoint or Google Slides for assignments and the final exam.

While most of the course hours are self-directed, students should make time for weekly Instructor-Candidate check-ins, a few of which are considered to be mandatory. • Students will take this program at their own pace completing one lecture and assignment after another.

• Examinations will include the submission of a complete business plan, an online theory exam, as well as a brief, online virtual presentation on a portion of the business plan to an international CIDESCO examiner.
• This course requires that students have access to and be proficient in email, internet usage, Microsoft Word or Google Docs, Microsoft PowerPoint or Google Slides. Students will be expected to have portable access to the internet and an external ‘jump’ drive for some class activities.
